MONTERO Gen1 - Hazard Light Switch, Rebuild Kit

Gen1 Monteros suffer from an unusual Hazard Light Switch design where the brake and turn signal lights also run through the hazard light switch. This wasn't a problem when the vehicle was new but now that the original switch is decades old, the plastic has weakened and it's just a matter of time until it gets pressed and you hear the crackle of the plastic arm inside snapping. Once this plastic switch breaks internally you will have problems with the brake and/or indicator lights not working. Sometimes the electrical contacts themselves can be what is causing the issue but from what we've seen, 99% of the time the issue is from a broken toggle switch and this kit will solve the issue, though we do recommend cleaning the contacts while you're in there.

This kit includes a new 3D printed switch housing and a replacement light bulb just in case yours is burnt out. This kit does not include any electronics. You must transfer your original contact piece and wiring harness to this new swith housing as shown in the following video:
