MONTERO Gen 2.5 - Fuel Tank (MB658212)

Wow! Look at this piece of unobtanium! This fuel tank is made for Gen2.5 (1998-2000) Monteros but it will also work with the following Gen1 & 2 Monteros with the minor modifications listed below:

*1995-1997

1. The fuel filler hose spout on this replacment tank has a 1 5/8" outer diameter but 92-97 Monteros use a 2" fuel filler hose. One possible fix would be to use a 2" to 1 5/8" adapter hose with metal union to connect the tank to your factory 2" fuel filler hose.

**1992-1994

1. The fuel filler hose spout on this replacment tank has a 1 5/8" outer diameter but 92-97 Monteros use a 2" fuel filler hose. One possible fix would be to use a 2" to 1 5/8" adapter hose with metal union to connect the tank to your factory 2" fuel filler hose.
2. This tank is set up with two safety valve holes on the top instead of the network of vent pipes that go out of your existing tank to a  vapor cannister on each side. To convert your vent system, you'll need two safety valves and all of the various accessories such as 3' of 1/4" fuel vapor hose, a 1/4" hose tee, 1/4 hose clamps, and 6 nuts. 

***1989-1991 Long Wheel Base ONLY
