Replacing your fuel pump? Unfortunately, the high pressure fuel pump hose has been a pain for many a Montero owner during this job.
Originally, the fitting on the body side swiveled and is meant to be removed first, and then the connection at the pump can be undone. However, now after many decades, the rubber hose is often deteriorated and the fittings rusted in place. You have to be careful not too put too much unsupported torque on the hose fittings so that you don't risk kinking the hardlines they attach to. Often times, cutting the hose and using a socket or impact while supporting the hardline with a wrench is the only way to free the fittings. But then to make matters worse, Mitsubishi discontinued this high pressure hose long ago.
Worry no more, we've created our own high pressure fuel pump hoses and took the opportunity to upgrade the original design!
- Swivel fittings at both ends - so you can remove either side as needed rather than having to start on the chassis side like the original.
- Braided stainless steel sleeve for increased pressure capacity, heat shielding, and abrasion protection.
