Sloppy shifting in your manual transmission? There's a good chance the original plastic bushing has disintegrated.
Don't forget the boot (Gen1: MD703619). If you still have the original rubber boot, then it probably has holes worn into it by now and is a good idea to replace to keep dirt from making it's way into your transmission.
