Why in the world did Mitsubishi delete the interior door handle from the tailgate on the Gen3 Montero!?

This has frustrated so many Montero owners over the years but now here is a partial solution! This interior handle kit is not capable of unlocking the tailgate door but it will allow you to open it from the inside. This comes in super handy when your exterior tailgate handle breaks or you're sleeping in the back of the vehicle. 

You may wish to put a directional arrow sticker (sold separately) on the panel because forcing the latch too hard in the wrong direction can damage it. Alternatively, we've included a length of orange paracord if you wish to modify the assembly like we did in our installation video. Modify at your own risk.
