Out of all of the Montero's independent suspension bushings and pads, the Lower Coil Springs Pads take the most abuse by far. By this point in your Gen3's life, the original ones are likely worn all the way through creating metal to metal contact with the coil springs sitting directly on the rear control arms which makes for a rougher ride and often a lot of noise.
This is one of the items we recommend most. While the OEM rubber coil pads are great for the other 3 locations, the Rear Lower ones are not up to the job, so much so that we refuse to even sell new ones. The OEM Rear Lower pads usually wear through in as little as 5,000-10,000 miles. These PolyTuff pads on the other hand will go the distance and even stand up to the added weight of built-up vehicles and the demands of off road driving. Additionally, fitting both of the Upper (not included) & Lower PolyTuff rear coil spring pads gives approx. 12mm (0.5") of lift.
