With the original rubber weatherstripping now being decades old, windnoise and water intrustion are common problems with Gen 2 and 2.5 Monteros. These weatherstips install easily onto the inner side of the front doors with the pre-attached push clips, just use some lubricant to help slide the weatherstrip into the proper position in the channel so that the tension is evenly dispersed and not putting too much strain on particular clips.
The quality of rubber of these Chinese replacements are not as good as OEM which is to be expected at 1/4 the price. That said, we have put them through rigorous testing and found that they held up well. Our worst performing test weatherstrip only began to develop tears in the rubber after 600 door closure cycles while another has over 1,000 closures on it and is still going strong. During this test period, the vehicle was outside and exposed to the elements for over a year with no visible affect on the rubber.
