These are the only aftermarket Exhaust Manifolds for the 3.8L available in the USA so if your Montero has a cracked manifold (as is very common on the original OEM ones), your options currently are: 
 
1. New OEM manifold for around $350 from Mitsubishi
2. Aftermarket Headers shipped from Australia for around $800-$1,000 (added welding, drilling, spacers may be required)
3. Used Junkyard unit - but high probability it has cracks in it as well 
 
or 
 
4. This new aftermarket manifold for less than 1/2 the price of the OEM unit.
 
 
As you can see, these are not Swiss quality made parts. The castings will have imperfections and pits, the heat shield threads are often not perfectly centered, and there are visible hand grinding/finishing marks. But this unit will bolt up correctly and will get you back on the road for less than 1/2 the price of OEM. We've used these manifolds on our own Monteros, have sold many over the last 2 years, and have yet to see or hear of a single failure.

    Great OEM replacement

    I purchased my 2006 Limited recently at 116k miles, and quickly noticed an exhaust leak on acceleration, sometimes described as sounding like a sewing machine. I put off the repair for a while, but eventually started getting pretty bad spark knock on acceleration and under load (I use 87 octane (florida) instead of the recommended 89 because I am cheap). I purchased both the left and right manifold, and I am glad I did as both of mine had hairline cracks underneath the manifold. Both replacements were high quality and looked identical to the original. Part was free of any burrs and my heat shield bolted up perfectly. Replacing them along with all of the relevant gaskets solved my exhaust leak, a slightly rich running condition, and no more pinging on acceleration with 87 octane! Highly recommend these. My only issue is that when driving the studs in, I was not able to torque them fully. The threads in the manifold began to cut into the non threaded part of the stud. I decided to stop trying to drive it in any further, and was able to sufficiently tighten the nuts to the Y pipe. I placed my order in the morning, and by mid afternoon my parts were already put into shipping. Very happy with Luso Overland!

    All the holes matched up perfectly and they feel heavy duty.
